Mold Remediation

Mold can affect indoor air quality and may contribute to allergies, asthma, and other respiratory issues. Professional remediation helps remove the problem and address the affected areas safely.

Yes. As a full service environmental abatement and restoration company, we can help rebuild and restore areas impacted by mold remediation work.

Usually only if the mold resulted from a sudden, covered event like a burst pipe, not from long-term humidity or an unresolved leak. Check your specific policy language or ask your insurer directly.

Mold patches under about 10 square feet on a hard, non-porous surface can often be handled with soap and water or a mild bleach solution, per EPA guidance. Professional remediation is the right call once mold covers a larger area, keeps coming back after cleaning, is growing inside walls or HVAC ducts, or followed a flood or long-term leak. Spores have usually spread further than what's visible.

Professional mold remediation follows the IICRC S520 industry standard: (1) inspection and contamination-level assessment, (2) containment of the area using sealed barriers and negative air pressure so spores don't spread to the rest of the home, (3) removal of contaminated porous material, (4) HEPA vacuuming and antimicrobial treatment of remaining surfaces, (5) drying to prevent recurrence, and (6) independent post-remediation clearance testing. This is done by a third party, since a remediation company can't sign off on its own work.

A persistent musty odor, visible spotting on walls, ceilings, or grout, recent water damage or a slow leak, condensation on windows, and allergy or respiratory symptoms that ease up when you're away from the house.

For most healthy people, mold triggers allergy-type symptoms: coughing, sneezing, eye and throat irritation. It's a bigger concern for people with asthma, existing respiratory conditions, weakened immune systems, and young children, where it can worsen symptoms.

Most residential jobs run 1 to 5 days from start to clearance testing, depending on the size of the affected area. Larger jobs that involve replacing drywall, flooring, or insulation can take 1 to 2 weeks including rebuild.

Professional mold remediation typically runs $10 to $25 per square foot, rising to $15 to $30 per square foot for hidden mold behind walls or in HVAC systems. Most full projects total $1,200 to $3,750, with a national average around $2,400. Final pricing depends on square footage, accessibility, and how far the contamination has spread. Often not, if the affected area is small (under 10 sq ft) and can be sealed off with containment and negative air pressure. Relocating temporarily is usually recommended when large sections of drywall, flooring, or insulation need removal, when mold is in the ductwork (which can spread spores through the whole house), or when the household includes infants, older adults, or anyone with asthma, allergies, or a weakened immune system.
